Note:

  • As there is only one passenger ferry most days from Mallaig (year round) and Arisaig (summer only) it is essential to check ferry times before making your booking
  • Bed linen is provided but not towels. Towels are available for hire for £2
  • A travel cot and high chair is available on request (free of charge)
  • One bag of locally sourced wood is provided for your stay. We kindly suggest a £10 donation for each additional bag
  • Gas, electricity and central heating is included, powered by Eigg’s renewable energy supply and supplemented by our own small hydro electric plant and solar panels which heat the water
  • Washing and drying machines are coin operated (3x£1 & 4x20p coins respectively). Washing powder not provided

Some important things for you to know...

Arrival:


Departure:

Guests are asked to kindly vacate the building by 9.30am on the day of departure

Travel Insurance:

We are unable to offer refunds for cancelled or postponed ferry sailings. We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover this possibility

Catering:

Groceries:

We recommend you bring:

  • Towels
  • Indoor footwear or thick socks
  • Torch
  • Insect repellent
  • Waterproofs
  • Good outdoor footwear

Dog Policy:

  • For a group booking (exclusive use of the building) we are happy to accept dogs. We ask that you bring your own dog bedding and that dogs are not permitted upstairs or on furnishings
  • For individuals sharing hostel accommodation we are unfortunately unable to accept dogs

Valuables:

We ask you to accept full responsibility for your own belongings. We don’t provide lockers in line with our island community ethos. Please carry valuables with you if you don’t want to leave them at the Glebe.


Payments & Cancellations...


Group Bookings


Payment:

Payments are accepted by: Cash, BACS (bank transfer), Paypal, and the following cards:
Visa Debit, Visa Credit, Maestro/Switch, Mastercard - no charge.

A deposit of 20% of the booking total is required.
The deposit will be refunded according to the cancellation conditions. Full booking balance (including a £200 refundable damage deposit) must be paid 30 days before arrival.



Cancellation:

If the booking is cancelled less than 90 days before arrival then a charge equal to 20% of the stay will be made.

If the booking is cancelled less than 28 days before arrival then a charge equal to 50% of the stay will be made.

Individual Bookings


Payment:

Payments are accepted by: Cash, BACS (bank transfer), Paypal, and the following cards:
Visa Debit, Visa Credit, Maestro/Switch, Mastercard - no charge.

A deposit equal to the total cost of the booking is required.
The deposit will be refunded according to the cancellation conditions.



Cancellation:

If the booking is cancelled less than 28 days before arrival then a charge equal to 20% of the stay will be made.
If the booking is cancelled less than 14 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made.
In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.
